Chamonix Information

Après-ski in Chamonix

Conversation in Chamonix bars always kicks off with one thing: what were the snow conditions like today and what's the snow report for tomorrow? Expect people to play hard in this town but they'll still be up for the first tracks the following day – or two hours later depending on when you call it a night. So pace yourself accordingly.

Kick off your night in Elevation, a French-run bar close to the Montenvers train station (perhaps pop in after a successful completion of the Vallee Blanche.) Move across the street to Chambre Neuf where the pitchers of beer should keep you hydrated as you launch yourself around to one of their infamous live bands. After this you may need to head back to your chalet in Chamonix to get your dinner. Don't dally too long, the night is still young.

Back in town you could pop to the Jekyll for some live comedy, play some pool in the gritty atmosphere of Bar'd Up or sup on cocktails in Mix Bar while local DJ's get the party started.

And let's not forget the rest of the Chamonix valley. Up in Argentiere you've got Savoy bar, Office bar and the Rusticana flying the flag for great atmosphere, quality food and local banter. Down in Les Houches the piste-side Kitsch Inn has live music, DJ's and enough après deals to keep you going to the small hours.
